Cory K. Kestner

Cory K. Kestner served as law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence M. Lawson, the Assignment Judge for the Monmouth Vicinage where he gained extensive experience working on condemnation and land use matters. He also interned for New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Virginia Long and the Honorable William J. McGovern, III, J.S.C. Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Kestner was a small business owner in Morris County.

Mr. Kestner graduated from Albany Law School in 2008, where he was a member of the Albany Law Environmental Outlook Journal. While in law school, he was awarded the David A. Wanger Award which recognizes the second year student who displays outstanding success and dedication to the moot court program, and also earned Best Oral Advocate honors in the moot court program. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1998, where he was a member of the varsity tennis team. Mr. Kestner is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.


He is the author of several articles, most notably "SCOTUS+SCONJ+TDRS =New Jersey Highlands Act Litigation Outcomes: Will it all Add Up to a Fair Outcome for Property Owners?”, 18 Fordham Envtl. L. Rev. 399 (2007), and most recently “Subpar Subpoena Clauses: Why States Need to Legislatively Amend Their Zoning Subpoena Laws”. 34 Seton Hall Legis. J. 29 (2009).   Mr. Kestner is a member of the American Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association.
